HOW
MUCH DOES IT COST TO ATTEND THE FIREWORKS?
Nothing. The shows are completely free to the public.
WHAT
TIME DO THE SHOWS START?
All the shows are scheduled to begin at dusk. This means well
after sunset when the sky has darkened. Our longest period
of daylight is on June 21, summer solstice. This results in
the latest start on the very first show on the 4th of July.
After that, dusk comes a little earlier each week.
WHERE
CAN MY FAMILY WATCH THE SHOW?
All along the downtown waterfront in St. Ignace, there are
public access locations. The main street is called State Street
and it winds along the waterfront of the harbor.

Many
businesses along the waterfront may welcome their customers
to view the shows on their premises. If they are open, please
ask at the location if they have particular spot for their
patrons.
WHERE
SHOULD WE PARK?
There is ample parking throughout the downtown area. All parking lots of the viewing locations noted above are suitable. There is also side street parking all along State Street as all the intersecting village lanes t-bone at the waterfront. There is a long parking lot running one block west of State Street from Truckey to Goudreau. Be sure not to block someone’s driveway and be aware of handicap restricted parking and fire hydrants. There is limited parking along State Street in one lane across from the water. During some weekends, the marina parking lot may be closed for festival activities.
WHAT
SHOULD WE BRING?
All your family! Folding chairs, blankets, nibbles and noshes
and warm sweaters are our suggestions. The waterfront can
cool down significantly after sundown.
WHAT
SHOULD WE LEAVE AT HOME?
We do not recommend bringing pets but if you do, they must
be leashed and under control at all times. You are responsible
to clean up after them. We do not recommend bringing boomboxes
as we have a musical broadcast system downtown for announcements
and enjoyment.
WHERE
ARE THE BATHROOMS?
There are public restrooms at several places near the viewing
areas.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF IT RAINS OR IF THERE IS FOG?
The policy is that all shows will be produced if deemed safe
and visible by the fireworks vendor and showman. If he should
decide to cancel on Saturday, the show will be held the following
night, Sunday.
ARE
THERE CONCESSIONS?
There are many food and beverage outlets along the waterfront
downtown. Please patronize our local businesses so that we
can continue to bring these shows to you.
ARE
THERE RESTRICTIONS ON ALCOHOL?
Yes. The City of St. Ignace has a zero-tolerance policy for
public consumption of alcohol. There are bars and restaurants
that are licensed to serve alcohol and drinks must be consumed
on their premises. There are privately owned properties and
homes along the waterfront where the owners may choose to
serve themselves and their guests, should you be invited there.
ARE
THERE OTHER LAWS OR RULES WE SHOULD BE AWARE OF?
All laws of the State of Michigan are enforced within the
city limits. No personal fireworks are allowed at the shows.
Be courteous to others and remember that children are all
around. Their safety and enjoyment are our first priority.
Loud music, cursing, intimidation, disregard for safety and
other such nuisances will be reported to the authorities immediately.
